Our story..
The Irish Miniature Horse Association, was founded and is run by father-daughter team, George and Suzanne Acres. They have owned Miniature Horses since 2008 and began showing in 2011 and that's when the love of these wonderful creatures came about.
Our aim is to provide competitors with 2 shows a year, a Spring Show and a Championship show, with a vast range of classes to suit all Miniature Horses and Ponies. Our shows are open to horses and ponies not exceeding 38". We have adopted the very successful format of classes from the UK, where rather than splitting
horses based on sex, we split them based on type as Miniatures can vary so much from the ultra refined thoroughbred types to the heavier draft types. All are treated equally and none are thought more highly than the other, as it is a personal preference as to which type a person likes! We also have classes for colour, breed (eg. AMHA, Falabella) Irish Bred etc and performance classes.
